CLARKSTON, WA – The Asotin County Sheriff’s Office has identified the two people found dead Saturday evening in a home in the 1200 block of Boston Street as 37-year-old Sergio Hernandez and 32-year-old Eliza Elias.

According to investigators, Hernandez shot Elias several times before taking his own life. The couple lived in the home with their two young children and Elias’s grandmother. Deputies said the children and grandmother, who were in another part of the residence at the time, were unharmed. The firearm used in the incident was recovered at the scene. Authorities confirmed no other individuals were involved.

Family members have identified Elias as the mother of two children, ages one and three. The children are now in the care of their great-grandparents.

A fundraiser on GoFundMe seeks to help cover funeral costs, cleanup of the family home, and care for the children. “All money raised will be provided directly to Brian Spiegel, their great grandparent, to support Eliana and Elio’s care and immediate needs,” organizer Kurt Spiegel wrote. “Brian and Nemi are doing everything they can to support the children, but the financial burden is overwhelming.”
