MOSCOW, ID – The City of Moscow will begin conducting a household income survey on September 22, 2025, as part of its effort to secure future grant funding for community projects.
The survey will be distributed to a random selection of residents and is designed to gather household income information required for Idaho Community Development Block Grant applications. These grants help fund a variety of public improvements, including parks, recreational facilities, community centers, roads, fire services, and infrastructure such as water and sewer systems.
City officials highlighted several past projects supported through similar funding, including:
- $125,000 for a permanent ADA-accessible restroom and parking at Indian Hills Park (2024)
- $175,000 for remodeling Mountain View Park restrooms to be ADA-accessible (2023)
- $335,000 for a new fire engine for the Moscow Fire Department (2023)
- $289,000 for a fire engine (2017)
- $143,000 for upgrades at the 1912 Center, including a west wing parking lot and commercial kitchen appliances (2013)
According to the City, the survey will take less than five minutes to complete, and responses will remain anonymous and confidential. Participation is strongly encouraged to ensure the results accurately reflect the community’s income levels, which determine eligibility for future funding.
Residents who receive the survey can review a sample and find additional information online.
