CLARKSTON, WA – TriState Wellness will host a free prediabetes education class on Tuesday, September 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at 1221 Highland Avenue in Clarkston. The session will be held in the TriState Conference Room C, and registration is required due to limited seating.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an estimated 98 million Americans are living with prediabetes, which can increase the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. The upcoming class will cover how to make healthy lifestyle changes, strategies for maintaining those changes, and ways to improve insulin resistance.
“Our Diabetes Care Team’s mission is to empower patients with the self-care management skills necessary to improve their quality of life,” said Jen Scharffer, Director of Wellness at TriState Health.
TriState’s Registered Dietitian Nutritionists will lead the session, providing tools on nutrition planning, disease prevention, and sustainable health practices. The program is part of TriState’s larger effort to support community health and wellness through education and outreach.
Those interested in attending can RSVP online at tsh.org or call 509-751-0229.
