COTTONWOOD, ID – The man accused of trying to burglarize the ATM in Uniontown last summer has been arrested in Central Idaho.
The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office found 42 year old Eric Wright of Kalispell barricaded inside a camper in Cottonwood on Sunday. They called in the Idaho State Police SWAT Team to assist. While officers were trying to contact Wright, he sustained a self-inflicted wound and was flown to a hospital in Coeur d’Alene.
Wright is wanted on a warrant out of Whitman County for the August attempted burglary at the Uniontown ATM. he was allegedly driving a customized dodge challenger which was stolen out of Montana. Whitman County Sheriff’s Deputies tracked Wright to a property in Southwestern Washington in September. They believed he had a trailer that was stolen out of Garfield from last year.
Latah County authorities have charged Wright in an unrelated property crime and the U.S. Department of Justice wants him on federal charges for a regional crime spree dating back to early last year.
