OROFINO, ID – The Idaho State Police are investigating a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash that occurred Wednesday evening at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and North A Street in Orofino.
Troopers were dispatched just after 6:11 p.m. following a report of a collision involving one vehicle and two pedestrians. According to state police, a 76-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman were transported by ground ambulance to Clearwater Valley Health. The driver of the vehicle was identified as a 46-year-old woman.
Traffic on Michigan Avenue was completely blocked from North A Street to Johnson Avenue following the crash, and drivers were asked to avoid the area.
The Idaho State Police said the incident remains under investigation. Agencies assisting at the scene included the Orofino Police Department, the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Department, and the Orofino Fire Department.
Authorities reminded drivers to use extra caution in areas with heavy foot traffic and to remain alert at all times.
