LEWISTON, ID — Idaho Fish and Game is seeking landowners in the Clearwater Region who are interested in participating in its Managed Hunt Program ahead of the upcoming spring turkey season.
According to Fish and Game, the Managed Hunt Program is designed for landowners who want to allow hunting access on their property but prefer not to handle repeated requests from hunters. Under the program, Fish and Game staff serve as the primary point of contact for hunters while landowners maintain control over how their land is used .
Landowners who enroll set the rules for their property, including hunting dates, access types such as walk-in only, and the number of hunters allowed. Fish and Game staff coordinate scheduling, provide hunters with property boundary maps and landowner rules, and address conflicts that may arise. The agency also installs necessary signage and may improve infrastructure at public access points for longer-term agreements .
The program is available for any legal hunting season, not just spring turkey, provided it complies with Idaho Fish and Game regulations and landowner guidelines. There is no monetary compensation for participation, no minimum contract length, and landowners may withdraw from the program at any time .
Landowners interested in enrolling or learning more about the Managed Hunt Program are encouraged to contact the Clearwater Region of Idaho Fish and Game at 208-799-5010 .
