WSU Athletics Beats Deadline To Raise Money For New Video Board, Speakers & Interactive Lights For Gesa Field

PULLMAN, WA – Washington State University Athletics beat the deadline to raise the money to move forward the first phase of improvements for Gesa Field.

Cougar Athletics raised over 10 million dollars for the project a week before the December 15th deadline which was set by the WSU Regents. The project will install a new video board inside Martin Stadium which is 30 feet wider than the current screen. The funding will also pay for new speakers and lights for Gesa Field which will interact with the video and audio. The new features will be ready for this fall’s Cougar football season. The old speakers and video board are so out of date that replacement parts aren’t available for those systems.

The next phase of Gesa Field improvements calls for new turf and video display boards to ring Martin Stadium. That project is scheduled to be complete before the 2027 Cougar football season.
Funding for the improvements is coming from private donations.
