LC State Men’s Golf in Second, West Leads at Oregon Tournament

PORTLAND, OR – LC State Men’s Golf completed rounds one and two of the Tournament of Knights at Glendoveer Golf Course on Monday. The Warriors are within striking distance of the team lead in second place, and Luke West holds a one-stroke lead in the top spot individually.

The tournament counts towards the Cascade Conference tournament standings and marks the final competition of the regular season.

The Warriors sit in second place after a 2-over-par round and are just three strokes off the lead. The No. 16 Thunderbirds of British Columbia sit in first place at one under par.

“Gritty day by the men. Conditions of the course weren’t great, but they battled all day,” coach Zach Anderson said. “We are within striking distance, exactly where we want to be. Excited for the opportunity tomorrow.”

Junior West sits in first place at the tournament after day one. He holds a one-stroke lead over the competition after a 3-under-par first round and even-par second round.

Aaron Brown finished day one in 10th place as the junior posted a balanced scorecard across both rounds to sit at 2-over-par.

Freshman Adam Lovatt and senior Sondre Andresen are tied for 11th at 3-over-par. Senior Kye Krall sits in 20th place after he shot 6-over in round one, then came back in the second round to shoot 1-under. He ended the day 5-over-par.

UP NEXT

LC State wraps up the regular season on Tuesday at the Tournament of Knights. The Warriors tee off at 8 a.m. in Portland.
