PORTLAND, OR – No. 18 LC State Women’s Golf competed in the final round of competition at the Tournament of Knights on Tuesday at Glendoveer Golf Course and finished third overall to close out the regular season.
The Warriors shot 10 strokes better in round two than in the previous round which earned the third-place team finish. No. 22 Oregon Tech finished in second, 11 strokes ahead of the Warriors, and the No. 4 Thunderbirds of British Columbia maintained their lead over the field.
“This just wasn’t our event. From the get-go yesterday we didn’t have our games. Slightly better today but unfortunate to end the regular season this way after such a promising spring,” coach Zach Anderson said. “Really looking forward to the reflection from this tournament knowing we have to improve significantly at the conference championship”
Junior Isabella Barquet led the Warriors. She shot 4-over, 77, in round two, which brought her overall score to 11-over. Her scorecard read 80-77 which had her finish in a tie for seventh.
Senior Dallis Shockey finished in a tie for 14th with a 9-over, 82, in round two, which brought her overall score to 17-over. She carded rounds of 81-82.
Sophomores Jane Barry and Giulia Belfontali finished tied for 17th. Both shot 11-over, 84 in round one, and came back in round two, where they shot 8-over, 81. This brought their total score to 19-over overall.
Taylor Mire moved up five spots in round two where she shot nine strokes better than her round one score. The freshman shot 7-over, 80 in round two (89-80).
