LEWISTON, ID – Idaho Fish and Game says anglers across the Clearwater Region can expect improved fishing this May as thousands of rainbow trout are scheduled to be stocked in area lakes, ponds, and reservoirs as part of a statewide effort.
The agency reports approximately 240,000 catchable-sized rainbow trout will be released across Idaho, with a strong share allocated to waters in north-central Idaho. Many of the locations are designed to be easily accessible and family-friendly, offering opportunities for both new and experienced anglers.
In the Lewiston area, Kiwanis Park Pond will receive about 900 trout, providing a convenient option within walking distance of parks and picnic areas.

Fish and Game notes many of these waters feature docks, trails, and shoreline access to make fishing easier. Youth under 14 can fish for free, while others must have a valid Idaho fishing license.
Officials say spring stocking is intended to boost catch rates and provide more opportunities for families to get outdoors during the warmer months.
