Wessels and Cooper Stand Out in Spokane

SPOKANE, WA – Kobe Wessels and Preston Cooper each had standout performances to highlight a solid day for LC State Men’s Track and Field at the Inland Northwest Invitational. The Warriors saw multiple edits to the record book and various personal records throughout the day.

“We are at that time in our season when some of our aches and pains and injuries, and just the drain of training, start to catch up with us a little bit,” coach Mike Collins said. “Despite that, we did have a few shiny spots today. Kobe had a real nice run in the mile today, put himself into the record book and was just short of qualifying for nationals. Collin won the triple jump today. Another week in front of us looking forward to the Idaho Invite. We may rest a few for that and try to prepare them for the next meet up here at The Podium.”

Cooper ran the second-fastest 200m in LC State history to finish in the top 10 in the event.
