MOSCOW, ID — Two physicians with Gritman Medical Center have received statewide recognition from the Idaho Academy of Family Physicians for their work in patient care and advocacy, according to a news release issued Thursday.
Dr. Bryn Parker was named the 2026 Idaho Family Physician of the Year, while Dr. Michael Fields was recognized as the 2026 Advocate of the Year.
Parker was honored for more than a decade of work in family medicine and obstetric care, along with her roles in leadership, teaching and advocacy. She has practiced at Gritman’s Downtown Clinic since 2015, delivers babies at the Gritman Family Birth Center, and serves as a site director for the University of Idaho’s WWAMI Medical Education Program.
In recognizing Parker, the Idaho Academy of Family Physicians cited her work providing comprehensive care in a rural setting, training future physicians and supporting policies aimed at maintaining access to care.
Fields, who joined Gritman in 2021 and practices at the Westside Clinic, was recognized for his advocacy efforts and focus on improving access to care. His clinical work includes treating patients with complex conditions such as chronic pain, hepatitis C and fibromyalgia.
According to the release, Fields also founded a support group for patients with fibromyalgia, aimed at helping individuals connect and support one another outside of clinical settings.
Both physicians are expected to be honored at the Idaho Academy of Family Physicians’ annual conference in May.
Gritman Medical Center, based in Moscow, is a nonprofit critical access hospital that provides care through its hospital and regional clinics.
