SILVIS, IL – LC State Men’s Golf opened play at the 2026 NAIA Men’s Golf National Championship on Tuesday. After one round of action at TPC Deere Run, the Warriors are tied for 22nd at 14-over.
The Warriors sit four strokes out of the top 15 in a stacked field. No. 9 Science & Arts (Okla.) leads the tournament with a score of 1-over-par after one round.
“It was a true battle today with the weather and course conditions, but that’s what is expected at a national championship,” coach Zach Anderson said. “Execution was not great today but after a good conversation tonight, I believe we have a solid plan to attack the course. Excited for another opportunity in the national championship tomorrow.”
Freshman Andrea Artusini leads the Warriors individually in a tie for 55th. He carded a 4-over-par round, and Luke West is one stroke back at 5-over to sit in a tie for 69th.
Sondre Andresen, the longest tenured player on the team, shot 6-over in his first 18 holes and is tied for 83rd. Fellow senior Kye Krall is two strokes behind Andresen in the tight race at 8-over for a share of 120th place.
Freshman Adam Lovatt is tied for 141st overall after a round of 11-over-par. He carded three birdies in his first 18 holes.
