University of Idaho names Brooke Blevins interim provost

MOSCOW, ID — The University of Idaho has named Brooke Blevins interim provost and executive vice president, effective immediately.

Blevins has served as dean of the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences since 2022, where she helped expand educational programs, partnerships and research efforts.

“Brooke is a thoughtful, collaborative leader who understands the importance of student success, academic excellence and strong partnerships across Idaho,” University President Scott Green said in a news release.

Before joining U of I, Blevins served at Baylor University and previously taught high school in Texas.

Blevins replaces Torrey Lawrence, who has served in the role since 2020 and will return to a faculty position. The university said an internal search for an interim dean of the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences will begin immediately.
