ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Madigan Kelly and Trenton Johnson concluded their storied collegiate careers on Friday at the 2026 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships. Kelly earned the third All-American honor of her career and Johnson finished in the top 15 in the triple jump.
Kelly earned her highest finish ever at a national meet when she crossed the line fourth overall. She ran the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.99. The Lewiston native leaves LC State as the school-record holder in the 60m hurdles, 100m hurdles, 60m dash and 100m dash.
“Madigan finished up her career with some more well-deserved hardware,” coach Mike Collins said. “An outstanding career and a great example to future Warriors as to how successful you can be if you focus, work hard and stay patient.”
Johnson finished 15th in the triple jump with a mark of 14.55m. He wraps up his four-year career as the Warrior leader in the indoor and outdoor triple jump and long jump.
“TJ (Johnson) fouled out on a big final jump, which is tough, but he has nothing to hang his head about as his name is scattered throughout the record board,” Collins said. “I am sure he will look back with good emotions on what he was able to accomplish.”
The Warriors wrapped up the outdoor season with two All-Americans and three school records. Combined with indoor, LC State added four All-American honors to its total.
“A very good final day,” Collins added. “Already looking forward to the fall and next year. We have spent a good portion of the past couple of days visiting with recruits. The results of this meet and the general history of our programs have made those conversations easy when it comes to what you can aspire to and the kind of family we have at LC State.”
