LC State Women’s Basketball Remains in NAIA Top 10

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Warrior women fell one spot, be remained in the top 10 of the NAIA in the latest coaches’ poll. LC State Women’s Basketball checked in at No. 10 heading into the final four games of the regular season.

The winning streak was snapped at 19 games, the fourth-longest in program history, by now-No. 14 Eastern Oregon. The Warriors and Mounties are tied atop the Cascade Conference standings with 17-1 CCC records. LC State is 22-2 overall.

LC State is second in the NAIA in field goal percentage defense (.324) and eighth in blocked shots per game (4.4). The Warriors lead the CCC in both categories, along with steals per game (11.0), turnover margin (6.38) and assist/turnover ratio (1.3).

EOU moved up two spots to No. 14 after defeating LC State in La Grande, while Southern Oregon fell out of the top 25 and is receiving votes. The CCC tournament, which the Warriors have clinched a spot in, will take place Feb. 22, 25 and 28 with the high seeds hosting. The selection show for the NAIA Women’s Basketball National Championship will be on March 2 at 4 p.m. PT.

The final NAIA poll will be released on Feb. 22.
