Volunteers Save Home From Small Wildfire South Of Palouse

PALOUSE, WA – A small wildfire briefly threatened a trailer home South of Palouse on Monday afternoon.

Whitman County Fire District 4 Volunteers, out of Palouse, were called to the blaze on Estes Road around 5:00.

The fire burned less than an acre and torched a chicken coop and a tree. Assistant Chief Joe Handley says a juvenile lit a burn pile and left it unattended when the flames spread. Whitman County Fire District 12 Volunteers were called in to assist.
