Clarkston Man Arrested for Burglary and Theft at Walmart

CLARKSTON, WA — Jacob C. Bremer, 29, was arrested at the Clarkston Walmart on June 2 after allegedly stealing merchandise while under an active trespass order from the store.

According to the Clarkston Police Department, an officer was dispatched to the store around 4:19 p.m. following a report of theft. Walmart asset protection staff had detained Bremer after observing him conceal an item and attempt to leave without paying. He was escorted to the asset protection office, where officers made contact with him.

The responding officer confirmed Bremer had previously been trespassed from Walmart and noted prior law enforcement interactions. When asked, Bremer stated he was aware of the trespass but had forgotten about it.

A search of Bremer’s belongings revealed a metal straw commonly used to ingest fentanyl, an empty syringe, and metal knuckles.  The items were seized by police.

Store personnel told officers Bremer was seen hiding merchandise in the waistband of his pants before trying to exit beyond all points of sale. The stolen items were valued at $51.43.

Bremer’s girlfriend, who was with him at the time, was reportedly seen stealing a 20-ounce bottle of Mountain Dew. Walmart staff declined to pursue charges against her.

Because he had been previously trespassed from the store, Bremer was arrested and booked on charges of second-degree burglary.  He is also charged with third-degree theft, and first-degree criminal trespass.
