CLARKSTON, WA – A Clarkston man was arrested on Friday following an investigation into the alleged theft of a crossbow from the local Walmart.
According to court documents, 25-year-old Logan Daniel Dillman was taken into custody on July 4 after officers identified him as the individual accused of stealing a $239 crossbow from the store on March 7. Surveillance footage and photographic evidence reportedly showed a man wearing a green jacket and red plaid pajama pants exiting the store with the merchandise, which he did not pay for.
The individual had previously been trespassed from Walmart in 2021 and was known to law enforcement due to multiple outstanding warrants. Based on photos taken from the scene and prior knowledge of the suspect’s involvement in earlier thefts, authorities established probable cause for burglary in the second degree.
On the day of the arrest, a Clarkston officer conducted a traffic stop for defective equipment and discovered that the driver matched the description of the theft suspect. During questioning, the man admitted to being at Walmart on the day of the incident and acknowledged taking the crossbow, stating he did so to obtain money and avoid being harmed by others.
He was booked into the Asotin County Jail on charges of second-degree burglary and for his outstanding warrants.
