MOSCOW, ID – The embezzlement case against a former Onaway City Clerk has been resolved with restitution and probation. Bridget Bailey pleaded guilty to misdemeanor misuse of public funds in Latah County Second District Court.
Judge Sunil Ramalingam sentenced Bailey on Thursday to 6 months probation and ordered restitution. Bailey embezzled about 7,500 dollars in Onaway taxpayer funds from November of 2022 and December of 2024.
She spent the money on personal expenses. Onaway City Council fired Bailey in January of last year. She has already paid back the embezzled money to the small town. The case was investigated by the Latah County Sheriff’s Office.
