COEUR D’ALENE, ID – A 58-year-old man has been sentenced to prison for trafficking methamphetamine, following a March 2025 investigation that uncovered more than three ounces of the drug in his residence.
Jorge Luis Pabon-Delgado was sentenced on June 30 by District Judge Lamont Berecz to 15 years in prison, with parole eligibility after five years.
The case began when officers received information that Delgado, who was on probation for DUI, was dealing drugs in the Coeur d’Alene area. While under surveillance, he was seen leaving his residence. At the request of his probation officer, Delgado was detained. During the contact, he dropped a small bag of methamphetamine and admitted he was on his way to deliver it.
A search of his apartment uncovered a larger quantity of meth, a large number of small baggies, and a scale that tested positive for methamphetamine.
Delgado’s criminal history spans more than 30 years and includes convictions for drug offenses, domestic battery, DUI, and other crimes. Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Monica Bushling requested a 15-year sentence, which the judge granted.
The Kootenai County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office thanked Adult Misdemeanor Probation and the Coeur d’Alene Police Department for their work on the case.
