MOSCOW, ID – The project for a second Moscow Chick-fil-A was announced by Mayor Art Bettge during his annual State of the City Address last winter. The restaurant was slated to be built where the old Sangria restaurant was located in the Palouse Place parking lot. At the time, the map on the mall’s website included a Chick-fil-A logo at the old Sangria building under the words “Coming Soon.” The Chick-fil-A logo has since been removed from the Palouse Place website.

A member of the Chick-fil-A new restaurant opening team has confirmed to Pullman Radio News that there are not any new locations to confirm for Moscow. The email response from Amanda Calhoun with Chick-fil-A states, “While we hope to bring new restaurants to the Moscow community in the future, we do not have any locations to confirm.”

Demolition of the old Sangria and construction of the Chick-fil-A was said to begin this spring or summer. City of Moscow planning department officials say they approved all the permits needed to build the restaurant.

The mall Chick-fil-A would have been an expansion for the national chain in Moscow. There’s a Chick-fil-A at the University of Idaho in the Student Union Building in the middle of campus.

Palouse Place used to be called the Palouse Mall.
