KOOSKIA, ID — The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies arrested 41-year-old Ronald Lee Emerson of Kooskia on October 21 for failing to comply with state sex offender registration requirements.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were dispatched around 7:12 p.m. to a residence in Kooskia after being notified by the Idaho Sex Offender Registry that Emerson had not responded to his quarterly verification letter confirming his current address and information, as required by Idaho law.
During contact with Emerson, deputies confirmed that he was not in compliance with the registration process. He was taken into custody for failure to register as a sex offender.
The sheriff’s office stated that the arrest reflects its ongoing effort to enforce registration laws designed to protect public safety through accurate monitoring of registered offenders.
All charges are allegations, and Emerson is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
