Lewiston-Nez Perce County Airport Launches Food Drive to Support TSA Agents Amid Federal Shutdown

LEWISTON, ID — The Lewiston-Nez Perce County Airport has organized a community food donation drive to support Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents who continue working without pay during the ongoing federal government shutdown.

A donation drop-off site has been set up inside the airport’s main terminal near the airline check-in area. Community members, travelers, and local businesses are encouraged to contribute non-perishable food items and essentials to assist the local TSA team.

“Our TSA officers are on the front lines ensuring the safety of every passenger, even during times of financial uncertainty,” said Airport Director Michael Isaacs. “We’re proud to support them and hope the community will join us in showing gratitude for their service and sacrifice.”

Donations are being accepted during normal terminal hours. Suggested items include canned goods, boxed meals, snacks, and beverages. Grocery Outlet of Lewiston provided initial support to help launch the effort, ensuring TSA employees at LWS receive help during this challenging period.
