SPOKANE, WA – The Spokane Police Department has completed internal investigations into two former officers accused of serious misconduct involving victims of domestic violence.
According to a statement from Police Chief Kevin Hall, both officers were found to have engaged in inappropriate relationships with domestic violence victims while on duty. The conduct violated department policy and, Hall said, “betrayed community trust.”
The department reports that both individuals resigned prior to the completion of the investigation and have since surrendered their law enforcement certifications.
“This conduct is unacceptable and does not reflect the values or professionalism of the Spokane Police Department,” Hall said. “The department took swift and decisive action to investigate and address their behavior as soon as it came to light.”
Chief Hall emphasized his confidence in the remaining officers, noting that “the majority of our officers uphold the highest standards of duty and respect for those we protect.”
The statement concluded by reaffirming the department’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and rebuilding public trust.
