Southern Idaho Parents Arrested on Felony Charges in Infant Death Investigation

NAMPA, ID — Two Nampa residents have been arrested following a police investigation into the death of their infant son, according to a press release from the Nampa Police Department.

Police said dispatchers received a 911 call at approximately 3:32 a.m. on December 16 reporting a possible infant death at a home in the 300 block of Lone Star Road. Emergency responders were sent to the residence and confirmed the infant was deceased.

According to investigators, the child’s father was at the home when officers arrived and told police the child’s mother was not present. Detectives later determined the infant allegedly died at a different location and was moved to the residence afterward. Officers also located the child’s mother hiding in a camp trailer in the backyard, police said. She was taken into custody without incident on an unrelated out-of-county warrant.

Following additional investigation, officers arrested both parents on December 29.

Police identified the suspects as 31-year-old Brian Allen Lemke and 28-year-old Allysen Raider Armenta, both of Nampa. Each was arrested on felony charges of injury to a child, destroying evidence, and failure to notify of a death, as well as a misdemeanor charge of resisting and obstructing.

The case remains under investigation. Police said the infant’s cause of death has not yet been determined and is pending autopsy results.

All charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
