PULLMAN, WA – The 50-year-old Pullman man accused of raping a child is out of jail while authorities continue to investigate the case. Ali Ali was arrested by Pullman Police Friday night on several felonies including 3rd degree child rape.

Court documents show that Child Protective Services reported the allegations to police on Friday morning. A detective and a CPS specialist interviewed the teenaged girl and identified Ali as the suspect.

The Whitman County Prosecutor’s Office had three days to file charges against Ali to keep him in jail. The prosecutor’s office issued a press release on Wednesday announcing that they had not filed formal charges pending the completion of the Pullman PD’s investigation.

The alleged victim is no longer in the area. If Ali is charged and convicted on the initial felonies he could spend life in prison.
