GRANGEVILLE, ID – A Grangeville man was arrested Saturday afternoon after Idaho County deputies responded to a reported trespassing incident outside the city, according to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office.
Dispatch received a call at approximately 1 p.m. Saturday regarding a person trespassing on private property off Long Haul Road. A deputy contacted the male subject upon arrival, and the property owner assisted in removing the individual’s vehicle from the property.
During the interaction, the deputy reported observing drug paraphernalia in plain view, authorities said.
James R. Smith, 45, of Grangeville, was arrested on charges including felony possession of cocaine, felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia, and misdemeanor possession of prescription medication without a valid prescription.
