Appaloosa Museum Closes in Moscow, Plans Virtual Transition and Future Relocation

MOSCOW, ID – The Appaloosa Museum & Heritage Center in Moscow is now closed.

The museum closed on Monday and will transition to a virtual museum starting next month. Museum officials announced in January on Facebook that they were selling the museum building on Pullman Road at the state line. The facility has sold and the building needs to be empty by the end of the month.

Officials have stated on Facebook that they will be moving the museum to a new location in the Inland Northwest. There hasn’t been an announcement yet as to where the Appaloosa Museum & Heritage Center will relocate.

The Moscow-Pullman Daily News reported last winter that the 350,000 dollar cost to fix the museum’s leaky roof was a factor in the decision to sell the building. The Appaloosa Museum & Heritage Center in Moscow opened 50 years ago.
