COLFAX, WA – The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has announced that a portion of State Route 272 will be closed east of Colfax on Wednesday, June 18, for critical culvert replacement work.
The closure is scheduled to occur between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. and will affect traffic approximately 10 miles east of Colfax. During this time, maintenance crews will be replacing an aging culvert to maintain roadway safety and proper drainage in the area.
To accommodate the closure, WSDOT has provided a detour route for travelers. Eastbound drivers will need to detour south onto Clear Creek Road to reach SR 27. Westbound drivers will also use Clear Creek Road, with detour access beginning about three miles south of Palouse on SR 27.
Motorists are advised to plan for delays and allow extra travel time during the detour. For updates, drivers can consult WSDOT’s travel alerts or call the regional office at 509-324-6000.
