One Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on US95 Near Fruitland

FRUITLAND, ID – A two-vehicle crash on US Highway 95 near Fruitland late Monday night resulted in one fatality, according to the Idaho State Police.

The collision occurred at approximately 10:57 p.m. on Monday, near milepost 64.5 in Fruitland. A 45-year-old woman from Fruitland was driving a blue 2014 Toyota Rav4 northbound when the vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a black 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 traveling southbound. The Dodge was driven by a juvenile and had two juvenile passengers.

The driver of the Toyota was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries. One passenger in the Dodge was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital. The driver and the other passenger in the Dodge were not transported.

According to police, all parties in both vehicles were wearing seatbelts.

The crash blocked the southbound lanes and one northbound lane for nearly 3 hours.

The incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police. Agencies assisting at the scene included the Fruitland Police Department, Fruitland EMS, Payette County Sheriff’s Office, and Fruitland Fire Department.
