Moscow man sentenced to 17 years in federal prison in child pornography case

COEUR D’ALENE, ID — A Moscow man has been sentenced to 210 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to receipt of child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Idaho.

Federal prosecutors said Devin Terrance Pickler, 40, was investigated after law enforcement received a CyberTip in the summer of 2024 involving a social media account suspected of possessing child sexual abuse material, also known as CSAM. Investigators determined the account belonged to Pickler while he was living in Moscow.

According to court records, investigators found Pickler had uploaded hundreds of CSAM files to online groups and posted messages discussing sexual offenses against children. Authorities also said a search of one of Pickler’s online storage accounts uncovered photographs that appeared to have been covertly taken of children at a local street market.

In early 2025, federal agents executed a search warrant at Pickler’s Moscow residence and seized multiple electronic devices containing CSAM, according to prosecutors. Authorities also reported finding multiple ceramic figurines depicting children in erotic poses and a child-sized sex doll.

U.S. District Judge David C. Nye ordered Pickler to serve supervised release for the remainder of his life following his prison sentence. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.

The case was investigated by the Moscow Police Department, Latah Regional SWAT Team, Lewiston Police Department, Latah County Prosecutor’s Office and the FBI. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Adam Johnson and Traci Whelan.
