Kamiah Man Arrested After K9 Alert Leads to Meth Discovery

KAMIAH, ID — A Kamiah man was arrested late Friday night after an Idaho County deputy observed a suspicious vehicle parked near dumpsters along Woodland Road, just outside of town.

According to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy encountered the vehicle at approximately 11:56 p.m. on June 13, 2025, during a routine patrol. K9 Millie and her handler were called to the scene, and the dog alerted on the vehicle. A subsequent search turned up methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The driver, 31-year-old Lucas Walker, was taken into custody. He faces charges including felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia, and misdemeanor under the influence of a controlled substance in a public place.

Authorities emphasized that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
