KAMIAH, ID – A confrontation involving loose dogs escalated into a physical altercation Tuesday evening, resulting in the arrest of a 38-year-old man on multiple felony charges.
According to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a 911 call around 7:55 p.m. on July 15, reporting an assault with a firearm just outside Kamiah. A man, woman, and their two young children were reportedly walking along a road when they were approached by several dogs.
The man allegedly drew a firearm in response to the animals. The owners of the dogs came to retrieve them, which led to a verbal dispute between the parties. During the exchange, the man allegedly headbutted one of the dog owners.
Clay George was arrested at the scene and booked on charges of felony aggravated assault and felony aggravated battery.
The sheriff’s office reminds the public that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
