PULLMAN, WA – Washington State University President Betsy Cantwell has announced the firing of Cougar Athletics Director Anne McCoy.

WSU will conduct a national search for the next AD. Athletics Chief Operating Officer Jon Haarlow has been named interim AD.

McCoy had been in Cougar Athletics since 2001 when she was hired as associate director of athletics. She was promoted to permanent AD in June of last year. McCoy began her Cougar AD stint in March of 2024 when she was named to the post on an interim basis after Pat Chun took the AD job at the University of Washington.

This is the latest administrative shakeup for Cantwell since she was hired WSU President last winter.
