LEWISTON, ID — The City of Lewiston Public Works Department is advising motorists of upcoming traffic control changes along Snake River Avenue as part of a phased project scheduled to begin later this month.
According to the city, the work will be completed in two phases and will impact sections of Snake River Avenue near the downtown riverfront corridor. Phase 1 will take place along the stretch north of the riverfront park area, while Phase 2 will affect the southern portion of the corridor closer to the highway interchange.
Traffic control measures will be in place during construction, and drivers should expect lane shifts and reduced speeds while crews are working. The city is encouraging motorists to use caution, follow posted signage, and allow extra travel time when traveling through the area.
Public Works officials say the phased approach is intended to reduce disruptions while maintaining access through the corridor as work progresses.
Additional updates will be provided as the project moves forward, according to the City of Lewiston.
