LEWISTON, ID — The Lewiston Orchards Irrigation District will begin road work Monday, May 18, near 1716 Ripon Avenue and the intersection of Ripon Avenue and 17th Street, resulting in a temporary closure to through traffic in the area.

According to a public service announcement issued Thursday, the closure will remain in place during construction activities while crews complete the project. Motorists are being asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

LOID said local access for residents and emergency services will be maintained whenever possible during the work. The district said the closure is necessary to allow crews to complete the project safely and efficiently.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution near the work zone, follow posted signage, and expect delays in the surrounding area.
