LEWISTON, ID — The Lewiston Police Department announced it will temporarily waive Normal Hill residential parking permit restrictions during the upcoming NAIA World Series to help accommodate increased traffic and attendance around the tournament.
According to the department, the waiver will be in effect from Friday, May 22 through May 30. The temporary change applies only to the residential parking permit program and does not exempt drivers from other parking laws.
Police said violations involving handicap parking zones, fire hydrants, blocked driveways or sidewalks, and other parking ordinances will still be enforced. Vehicles in violation may receive citations or be towed at the owner’s expense.
The department is asking residents and visitors to respect homeowners in the area while attending tournament events.
