PULLMAN, WA — The Schweitzer Wellbeing Center and Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories are inviting the community to take part in the Pursuit of Happiness Fun Run next month in Pullman.
The family-friendly 2.5-mile event is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, at 9:30 a.m. and is being held in celebration of 250 years of American independence. Organizers said the event will take place one week ahead of Independence Day festivities.
The run will begin and end at Reaney Park in downtown Pullman. According to organizers, the course will use sidewalks and trails with minimal street crossings and is designed to be accessible for participants of all ages and fitness levels.
Following the run, attendees are invited to stay for a community celebration featuring music, snow cones, snacks and other activities.
Registration costs $15 and includes a t-shirt, while participants may also register for free without a shirt. Organizers said registration is available through the Schweitzer Wellbeing Center’s online portal.
The Schweitzer Wellbeing Center is a health and fitness facility in Pullman owned and operated by SEL. The center originally opened in 2000 and was reacquired by SEL in 2025 as part of an effort to expand programming and modernize the facility.
