LUCILE, ID — The Idaho State Police is investigating an officer-involved critical incident that left one man dead Friday night near Lucile in Idaho County.

According to a news release, the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at approximately 9:51 p.m. on May 22 from a woman reporting that an unidentified man was threatening to shoot her.

Deputies responded to the scene and made contact with the individuals involved. During the encounter, shots were fired, authorities said.

The male subject was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were injured.

The Idaho State Police has been requested to conduct an independent investigation into the incident. Additional details, including the identity of the deceased and the circumstances leading up to the shooting, have not been released.
