LEWISTON, ID – A Lewiston man is facing multiple felony theft and burglary charges following an extensive investigation that tied him to a series of vehicle burglaries and stolen property recoveries across the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley.
According to court records filed Tuesday in Nez Perce County, Christo Clarence Xiggenis, 42, has been charged with two counts of burglary and two counts of grand theft after detectives linked him to a months-long string of vehicle break-ins and pawn transactions involving stolen items.
A Lewiston Police Department probable cause affidavit states that Xiggenis was first contacted by police regarding the case on July 25 after being spotted prowling vehicles in the Lewiston Orchards. During the contact, Xiggenis reportedly admitted to selling stolen property online despite being on felony probation, claiming that “thousands” of items were in his hotel room from earlier in the year when police executed a previous search warrant. Apparently, those items could not be linked to reported thefts.
In the more recent investigation, a police review of local pawn shop records showed that between June and August 2025, Xiggenis sold numerous items commonly taken in vehicle burglaries, including binoculars, jewelry, headphones, knives, and speakers.
Further investigation revealed several of those pawned items matched property reported stolen by local residents, including a pair of binoculars taken from a vehicle in August. Serial numbers confirmed the binoculars were the same pair reported missing.
Detectives later discovered Xiggenis had two storage units in Lewiston, where a search warrant served on September 11 led to the recovery of a large quantity of suspected stolen goods. Items included GPS units, iPads, cameras, purses, tools, and roughly 60 pairs of sunglasses and 19 pairs of binoculars. Several victims were later able to identify their stolen property through serial numbers, photographs, or unique markings.
DNA testing also linked Xiggenis to two separate vehicle burglaries, while historical cell phone location data also placed his phone near at least five different theft scenes.
When arrested on September 9, Nez Perce County deputies reportedly found methamphetamine and additional suspected stolen property in Xiggenis’ vehicle.
The affidavit also references a subpoena from Apple that identified an iPhone recovered from Xiggenis’ property as belonging to a Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife employee whose work jacket had been stolen from an unlocked vehicle earlier in the year.
Xiggenis reportedly has five previous felony convictions, including a felony grand theft conviction from earlier this year in Nez Perce County.
In that case, police executed a search warrant on March 29 at the FairBridge Inn on Main Street in Lewiston, where Xiggenis had been staying. The warrant was connected to an investigation involving stolen items being posted online. During the search, officers located a Louis Vuitton wallet in Xiggenis’ room that matched one reported stolen.
Police say Xiggenis admitted to possessing the wallet, claiming he had received it from someone at a fair. He also sent messages to another individual trying to sell the wallet. Xiggenis was allegedly linked to a series of vehicle burglaries that occurred between March 17 and March 27 in Lewiston. He reportedly admitted he knew some of the items in his possession were stolen. Prosecutors pursued a grand theft charge and Xiggenis was ultimately placed on five years probation in the case.
Xiggenis remained in custody at the Nez Perce County Jail as of Tuesday morning and appeared in Nez Perce County Court on Tuesday afternoon. Despite a request for $150,000 bond from prosecutors, Judge Karin Seubert set no bond related to the four new felony charges.
