Clarkston Police Arrest Man with Multiple Warrants Following Foot Chase

CLARKSTON, WA – A 27-year-old man was taken into custody Friday evening after reportedly fleeing from police during a traffic stop in Clarkston, according to court documents filed in Asotin County Superior Court.

Court filings state a Clarkston police officer attempted to stop a silver Hyundai Accent near 6th Street on September 19 at about 5:15 p.m. after receiving information that the driver, Jared Alan Laveway, was wanted on multiple warrants, including one for first-degree robbery.

When emergency lights were activated, Laveway is accused of jumping from the vehicle and running south on 13th Street toward Highland Avenue, according to court documents. Despite repeated commands to stop, he is said to have continued to flee, with detectives from a regional task force assisting in the pursuit.

Court documents further indicate that Laveway struck an officer who attempted to intercept him before falling to the ground. He was then placed in handcuffs, and his warrants were confirmed through dispatch.

Laveway was booked into the Asotin County Jail on charges of third-degree assault and resisting arrest, according to court filings. He was also held on outstanding warrants for theft, hit-and-run, driving without a valid license, and robbery.
